Playgraphs scores your tabletop games from a photo, keeps your record, and shows how you compare against the community. To do that it holds some of your data. This page explains exactly what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to get it back or have it erased. We collect as little as we can and never sell it.
Who we are
Playgraphs (playgraphs.ai) is a product of Alt Robot LLC ("Playgraphs," "we," "us"). Alt Robot LLC is the data controller for the personal data described here. Questions, requests, or complaints: product@playgraphs.ai.
What this covers
This policy applies to the Playgraphs website and app at playgraphs.ai (including the Wyrmspan scoring app and any other games we add, such as Wingspan and Finspan). It does not cover other companies' sites we link to — including sign-in with Google, or any separate Alt Robot LLC product, which have their own policies.
What we collect
Account & sign-in
You can use Playgraphs with an account or as an anonymous guest.
- Accounts. Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth (via our branded
domain
auth.playgraphs.ai). If you sign in with email and password, we hold your email address and a securely hashed password managed by Supabase — we never see or store your password in plain text. If you sign in with Google (OAuth), Google confirms your identity to us and shares your name, email address, and profile picture; we do not receive your Google password. - Anonymous guests. To join a game night without signing up, we create a temporary anonymous session so scores can be attributed to you during that game. It carries no email or name unless you choose to convert it into a full account, in which case the guest data is linked to your new account.
Board photos you upload
The core feature: you photograph your game board and we read the score from it. When you upload a photo, it is sent to Anthropic's Claude vision models (via API) to detect the game state and calculate the score. See Photos & AI below for retention and training details.
Game, score & session data
- Game records. The results we extract — scores, board layout, placements, the game and date, and which account they belong to — are stored in our graph database (Neo4j) so you can keep and revisit your history.
- Multiplayer sessions. When you host or join a scoring session, we process the room code, the players present, and each player's submitted scores in real time so the session works and results can be shared with everyone at the table.
Information collected automatically
- Cookies & local storage. We use cookies and browser local storage that are strictly necessary to run the service — chiefly to keep you signed in and to remember your session and preferences. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- Basic technical & usage data. Like most sites, our hosting and infrastructure providers process standard technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) to deliver the service, keep it secure, and diagnose problems. Any product analytics we run is limited to understanding how features are used so we can improve them, and is kept to the minimum needed.
How we use your data
- To sign you in and maintain your account and sessions.
- To score your board photos and build and show your game history.
- To train, evaluate, and improve our own AI scoring models (see Photos & AI).
- To run real-time multiplayer scoring sessions.
- To produce community analytics (see below).
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, fix bugs, and improve features.
- To respond to you when you contact us, and to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Photos & AI
Your board photos are first processed by Anthropic's Claude vision models through Anthropic's API to read the game state and score it. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, inputs sent through the API are not used to train Anthropic's models.
We do use board photos to train and improve Playgraphs' own AI. The photos you upload — which capture your game's player mat and board components — may be used by Playgraphs to develop, train, evaluate, and improve our scoring models so that detection and scoring get more accurate over time. These are pictures of a game board, not of people: please do not include faces, documents, or other personal information in the frame. If you would prefer your photos not be used for model training, email product@playgraphs.ai and we will exclude them.
Retention. A photo is stored as part of the game record it belongs to, so you can review it later, and — where used for training — may also be retained in our model-training datasets. When you delete a game or your account, the photo is removed from our active systems (residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on our regular backup-rotation cycle) and we stop using it for future training; copies already incorporated into a training dataset or a model already trained on it may not be individually retrievable. If you would like a photo removed sooner, email product@playgraphs.ai.
Community analytics
Playgraphs compares your play against the community — for example, showing where your score falls as a percentile, or which strategies tend to do well. To do this we aggregate scores and game outcomes across many players. Community statistics are presented in aggregate and are not intended to identify any individual player. Your raw game records remain private to your account; only the aggregate patterns feed the community view.
Who we share data with (service providers)
We use a small set of trusted providers to run Playgraphs. They process data only on our behalf and under their own privacy and security terms:
- Supabase — authentication and account storage.
- Google — sign-in with Google (OAuth), if you choose it.
- Anthropic — Claude AI models that score your board photos.
- Neo4j (Aura) — the graph database holding your game and score records.
- Vercel and Railway — website, application, and API hosting.
We may also disclose data if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Playgraphs, our users, or the public.
How long we keep data
We keep your account and game data for as long as your account is active so your history stays available to you. If you delete a game, its data (including its photo) is removed; if you delete your account, we remove your personal data from our active systems and purge residual copies from encrypted backups on our regular rotation cycle. We may retain limited information where the law requires it or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the EU/UK GDPR — you have the right to access a copy of your personal data, to correct it, to delete it, to export it (portability), to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on it. We honor these requests regardless of your location.
To make a request, email product@playgraphs.ai. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (typically within one month). If you are in the EU/UK you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children
Playgraphs is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security & international transfers
We protect your data with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and the security measures of the providers listed above. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information. Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries; where required, appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) apply to international transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we will provide a more prominent notice.
